• Cece!

Oh Hi!

Thanks for stopping by! I'm Troy, the craftsmen behind Heartmade Woodworking. I live just north of Austin, TX in a small'ish town named Pflugerville, with my rescue dog Cece.

I've been honing my skills in all things woodworking and product design with an emphasis on custom, unique pieces that can't be found anywhere else, since 2012. I consider myself an autodidact and do everything within reason myself. I love to learn new techniques, processes and appreciate 'sweating the small stuff' when it comes to design and fabrication.

I got into woodworking after moving from California to Texas in 2008. I bought my first home 1 year after moving to Texas which was a foreclosure that needed a lot of work. Rather than paying someone to renovate I decided to buy some basic (and cheap) tools to do it myself. It was incredibly rewarding to completely overhaul my house. I did just about everything from putting in tiling, hardwood floors, pouring concrete countertops...you name it. When I was finished renovating I needed to fill my home with furniture so I decided to buy a welder and make my own furniture. I started with a coffee table and worked my way up to a metal and wood dresser/night stand set.

I have been doing traditional woodworking since 2012 but During COVID I built myself a CNC (computer numerical controlled) router from scratch and have been completely enamored with the entire process from 3D modeling my products to the fabrication at the machine. Before diving into CNC machining I typically made keepsake/jewelry boxes, cutting boards and guitars using tools such as a table saw, jointer, planer, router, chisels, hand planes...etc. The knowledge I gained using traditional woodworking tools truly makes me a better CNC machinist, at least for the things I make.

When I'm not designing something to make or in my shop making things I enjoy fishing with friends, camping, playing guitar, singing and working out.

Please reach out if you have any questions or if you'd like a quote for a custom piece.

Thank you for supporting small businesses!
