The top:
- Bookmatched quilted maple. This is an amazing piece of quilted maple
- Red epoxy resin heart inlay that goes through the depth of the top so it's visible when the box is open
- 3 coats of satin lacquer
- Solid american black walnut
- Three walnut splines in each of the mitered corners add strength and beauty
- Small chamfer on top and bottom
- The bottom of the front and sides has a subtle angled contour to give the profile a unique aesthetic
- 3 coats of satin polyurethane for durability and a low sheen
- Solid walnut sides
- Maple splines in each of the mitered corners
- Each tray's divider layout can be customized or completely removed
- The bottom tray has such a precise fit that it slowly floats down to the bottom when placed in the box which is known as a 'piston fit'.
- Finished with an eco-friendly hard-wax oil that is food safe, resistant to heat, staining and scratches
- Handmade walnut hinges
- Each hinge is mortised into the box. They were not glued on to the face/surface of the box, they sit in a routed pocket for a lower profile and larger gluing surface area
- Stainless steel pin
- Zero VOC, eco-friendly hard wax oil finish
