Wood and Epoxy Wall Art - Walnut Tree - Epoxy Leaves - One of a kind

This is the third tree I've made and is the first with green epoxy leaves. It's difficult to capture the depth of layers but it is very 3D in person.

Layer 1 is bookmatched curly maple with inlaid multi-color leaves which are green and yellow
Layer 2 is the raised walnut tree trunk which is then encased in epoxy

The bottom of the wood frame also has epoxy leaves as if the leaves are still falling.

Layer 1 Canvas: bookmatched curly maple with green and yellow epoxy leaves inlaid into the wood
Layer 2 tree trunk: black walnut that sits on top of the canvas about 1/4". This is encased in clear epoxy which has more leaves inlaid on top of the epoxy adding depth and a 3D look
Layer 3 Frame: Curly maple with epoxy leaves. The corners are mitered and have a walnut spline for reinforcement and visual appeal

The epoxy is clear coated with several coats of shellac which was sanded and polished to a near mirror finish. The frame was coated with a hard-wax oil which has a slight sheen to it.

The back has a key-hole pocket for inserting a screw head for hanging. This provides a secure mounting point as it can't be pulled away from the wall without sliding to the side first. The back is 1/8" plywood covering the maple to add rigidity.
